Tudor Style Design

A Tudor home is a traditionally designed english home. Tudor ceilings typically use dark stained box beams that serve both as structural support and also a design aesthetic. Windows are most often mullioned.

The main design feature that defines English Tudor Style is wood.  From furniture to exposed beams, paneled walls and ornate carved mantels, an English Tudor without wood simply doesn’t work.  A more modern take is to soften the harshness of the dark heavy woodwork by painting it.  It thereby retains its original style, but in a more contemporary fashion.
